This 1969 Ford Mustang was built as a Candyapple Red Mach 1 with a 351ci V8 linked to a three-speed manual transmission. Further GT500 modifications included the hood, center-exit exhaust system, roll bar, and shoulder harnesses. Completed in 2018, the car has since been driven ~250 miles. Originally Candyapple Red, the car fitted with a GT500 front end along with additional Shelby-style body pieces and a center-exit exhaust system by a previous owner. It was stripped and repainted Lapis Metallic (KE) in 2017.The GT500’s roll bar and shoulder harnesses were fitted to the interior, and the seller replaced the carpeting and underlayment. A Hurst shifter and a fire extinguisher have been installed, and the left door panel has a crack. The odometer was reset at the time of the refurbishment, and the seller has driven the car under 250 miles since it was completed in 2018.The seller tells us the 427ci V8 was rebuilt in 2009, and it is topped by a tunnel-port intake with dual Carter four-barrel carburetors.
